Nightlight

It all goes so fast,

I blink and it’s been a day, a week, a month, a year

Grasping at the roots as I plummet to nothing.

Scared of nothing,

I get tangled in the very roots I once tried grasping,

And now it feels all too much

All at once,

Can’t figure out which leads where,

Looking for a way to escape

Escape.

And so I fall,

Frantically grasping once again.
