THE BOMBUS GALLERY
All bombus sightings were in the afternoon. The more sunny it is, the more bees there will be.
During rainy moments, bees will often seek shelter or take a dormant state (occurring in the orange flower photo).
Video Observations: Bee-havior
Video 1:
Yellow-faced bumble bee loudly pollinates a rosa rugosa ( pink flower), making intermittent buzzing bursts as it lands, pollinates, and moves.
Video 2:
(No sound)
Yellow-faced bumble bee dances atop a ceanothus thyrsiflorus (blue flower) in a quick motion as if rummaging through the material in a rush.
Video 3:
This video, partially in slow motion, captures a yellow-faced bumble bee interacting with a rosa rugosa (pink flower). The bee moves from one flower to the next and is briefly visited by another bee of the same species. In response, it pushes the intruder away with a kicking motion before resuming its task.
